For some reason (aside from the fun fact that that’s Tommy Chong on guitar and backing vox), BT & the Vs get generally forgotten in the Motown pantheon. This is a consistently solid record, firmly wedged in Motown’s in-betweenland of streetcorner harmonies and late-60s psych-soul.

Pretty brilliant! Hates the White Album, but intelligently so - and really (even though it’s my favorite Beatles record, probably) it’s easy to see how through 1968 ears it could sound that way.
